Have you ever asked yourself what you want to be when you grow up? After working as a computer programmer, then as a stay-at-home mom, and, finally, as a service provider for a weight-loss company, Nancy Lagomarsino finally figured out the answer to that question. For decades she had enjoyed the artistry of baking (particularly since marrying into an Italian family!), and finally decided that it was time to follow her heart and “just do it!” So she quit her job, enrolled in cake-decorating courses at New York’s Institute of Culinary Education, and founded SophistiCakes, LLC in 2011. She’s had the pleasure to study with master sugar artists both in the US and abroad, and has developed a love for the intricacy of sugar flowers, delicate piping, and classical decorating techniques. Always passionate and forever a perfectionist, Nancy enjoys nothing more than waking up each day to the challenge of another confectionary creation!
